When The Day Breaks: Analysis

[Forbis & Tilby, Canada, 1999]

Narrative: The plot of the film is linear but switches between the point of views of the Pig and the Cockerel. There are no noticeable flashbacks or flashforwards and there is no clear line of conflict nor is there a binary opposition set up. However, the two storylines of both animals are interweaved during the films climax, which sets up the plot for the remainder of the film. There is no narrator but there is a twist which makes up for this; the moment when the Cockerel is killed.
