No Country for Old Men (2007)
This module requires the study of TWO films, ONE from the 'Classic Hollywood' era (1930 - 1960) and another from the 'New Hollywood' era (1961 - 1990). This comparative study requires a study of the production practices of each era, technical approaches, and the context of each film's production. We will learn how contexts are reflected in film, how knowledge of these contexts increases understanding and how films generate meanings and responses.
